Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange based in the United States by trading volume, has included three new alternative coins in its listing roadmap, indicating a possible future listing. The tokens added are BankrCoin (BNKR), Jito Staked SOL (JITOSOL), and Metaplex (MPLX). This announcement led to immediate price increases for all three tokens, with BNKR experiencing the most significant rise, recording a double-digit increase.

The exchange made the announcement through a recent post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Alongside the announcement, Coinbase provided the contract addresses for each of the listed assets. However, the exchange clarified that the actual launch of trading for these assets is dependent on securing market-making support and ensuring adequate technical infrastructure is in place. Once these requirements are fulfilled, Coinbase will issue a separate announcement specifying the exact date when trading will commence.

In response to the news, the market reacted quickly. BNKR, which serves as the official token for the Bankr AI agent, saw a substantial price increase, rising approximately 40.54% from around $0.00037 to $0.00052. However, by the time of writing, the token lost some of its gains, settling at $0.00046, which still represented a 29% increase over the past 24 hours.

Metaplex (MPLX) recorded a 12.08% increase, moving from $0.149 to $0.167. Despite this initial gain, the token experienced a sharp decline afterward. According to the latest market data, it was trading at $0.160, reflecting a 4.6% drop over the past day.

Jito Staked SOL (JITOSOL), a liquid staking derivative on the Solana blockchain, saw a modest 3% increase despite some short-term fluctuations. At the time of writing, it was trading at $246.

The inclusion of BNKR, JITOSOL, and MPLX in the listing roadmap aligns with Coinbase’s thorough evaluation process, which assesses digital assets based on legal, compliance, and technical security standards. These tokens now join QCAD (QCAD), which has remained on the roadmap for an extended period.

It is worth noting that following previous additions to the roadmap, several other altcoins such as Fartcoin (FARTCOIN), Subsquid (SQD), and Sky (SKY) were listed shortly after. This suggests that Coinbase may adopt a similar approach with the latest additions.

If these tokens are indeed listed, further price increases could be expected. Historically, listings on Coinbase have often been accompanied by significant price movements due to the increased visibility and liquidity that come with being listed on one of the largest and most trusted exchanges in the industry.
